VIASURE Gastrointestinal Panel IV Real Time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the specific identification and differentiation of Clostridium difficile Toxin A and B; Salmonella, Campylobacter and/or Yersinia enterocolitica; Campylobacter coli, Campylobacter lari and/or Campylobacter jejuni; and/or Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC), Shiga toxin-roducing Escherichia coli (STEC), Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC) and/or Enteroinvasive Escherichia coli (EIEC)/Shigella in human stool samples from patients with signs and symptoms of gastrointestinal infection.

This test is intended for use as an aid in the diagnosis of the Clostridium difficile Toxin A and B; Salmonella, Campylobacter and/or Y. enterocolitica; C. coli, C. lari and/or C. jejuni; and/or STEC, EPEC and/or EIEC/Shigella in combination with clinical and epidemiological risk factors.

DNA is extracted from stool specimens, multiplied using Real Time amplification and detected using specific primers and a fluorescent reporter dye probe for Clostridium difficile Toxin A and B; Salmonella, Campylobacter and Yersinia enterocolitica; C. coli, C. lari and C. jejuni; and STEC, EPEC and EIEC/Shigella.
