In accordance with the recent exceptional situation caused by Covid-19, and the recent release of the Royal Decree 463/2020 from March 14th, declaring the state of alarm throughout the Spanish territory, complemented by the Royal Decree-Law 10/2020 from March 29th, which regulates the activity of workers who do not provide essential services, both companies Certest Biotec, S.L. and Palex Medical, S.A. want to inform all interested parties that:
From the beginning of the health pandemic caused by Covid-19, collaboration between Certest Biotec, S.L. and Palex Medical, S.A. made possible to supply hospitals and diagnostic centers in the Spanish public and private network, more than 100,000 RT-PCR tests per week.
Certest Biotec, S.L., an independent company dedicated to the development and manufacture of products for the in vitro diagnosis of infectious diseases, is the manufacturer of the test for the diagnosis of the new coronavirus, named VIASURE SARS-CoV-2 Real Time PCR Detection Kit.
This diagnostic test is not a rapid test. It is not a test for domestic or private use, and cannot be purchased through pharmacies or regular stores.
VIASURE SARS-CoV-2 Real Time PCR Detection Kit is a professional diagnosis assay based on the amplification of a localized sequence of the virus genome. This diagnostic technique requires specialized personnel, specific technical equipment and appropriate facilities to carry out the preliminary preparation of the sample and the analysis. The production of this test is approximately 80,000 tests per day, containing all the necessary reagents, in a stabilized format, to carry out the test, allowing it to be shipped and stored at room temperature without special conditions. The average time to obtain a result on a patient’s sample is approximately three hours.
Palex Medical, S.A., a global provider company for hospitals, recognized for its innovative contributions to hospital practice, is the Spanish Partner of Certest Biotec, S.L. for VIASURE SARS-CoV-2 Real Time PCR Detection Kit. Palex Medical provides logistics for the test to reach the laboratories at Spain, the specific technical equipment for carrying out the test, as well as the support of the specialists who have been from the beginning accompanying health professionals for the implementation and proper operation of the diagnostic test manufactured by Certest.
Certest Biotec, S.L. and Palex Medical, S.A. are at the disposal of the Health authorities, as required by the declaration of the state of alarm. Both companies maintain direct contact with each other and with government authorities to guarantee the supply of the VIASURE test kits, according to the appropriate requirements and demands. The supply to national health services has been, from the outset, a priority for both companies, and continues to be so today.
